Vacation Plans

Its vacation time in this lovely twin island of T&T. School is out and taking leave from work during this period has become a norm. It usually sparks the beginning of fun and exciting moments with loved ones, family and friends. So what thrilling plans do you all have for this July-August break? Will you be visiting our beautiful beaches, maybe our breathtaking landscapes; probably a river cook is on the agenda, a hiking trip, or perhaps a peaceful getaway to the sister isle of Tobago?

What fun activities do you have planned for the kids? How about some horseback riding, bird watching or a visit to Harry’s Water Park? For all you sport fanatics, cricket excitement resides in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL), will you be taking part? Additionally on a more cultural note Emancipation and Independence Day celebrations would be held during this vacationing period, will you be attending with your family to recognize and appreciate its significance to us individuals and the wider national community?

Are you guys vacationing solely in the island or do your plans include that of some other luxurious destination outside of T&T?

  1. Hi there, Trinis and Tobagonians seem to have a lot of fun and exciting activities going on this time of the year. Does your country have like a "Travel Tourism Agency" that offers packages to a Tourist like myself to explore all the great beaches, restaurants, nightlife etc in your country? Thank you and I await your response

  4. I have many planned activities to do while on my summer vacation at T&T. I plan on going to the different beaches in particular Maracas Bay to get some good Bake and Shark! I will also be heading down the islands to relax myself and maybe do some fishing. I also plan on checking out the night life T&T has to offer on the Avenue, down south, and other places. These are just a few of the things I plan on accomplishing during my time in T&T.

  5. For the independence my hubby and I along with some friends plan on setting up at the savannah early with our chairs...a spread... food... music and just enjoy the night and the fireworks. Nothing better than T&T night life :)

  6. Well it's going to be fun in the sun for me. Maracas beach first then over to Tobago to that beautiful blue water. After I plan on hiking to a waterfall or two, take in all the sights and sounds. But I know that I got to hit some clubs and grab a cooler of beers and look at the fireworks on independence day with friends. But I know the biggest must is eating Trinbago food. :)

  7. I recently spent a week in Charlotteville, Tobago enjoying the beaches and the locals. Tobago has so much to offer. I also plan to do some hiking and beach hopping in Trinidad as well. I particularly enjoy the Toco area and of course Maracas and Las Cuevas are well known favourites. TnT is paradise!!

  10. Firstly, I commend you for making use of the correct term 'July-August' break instead of the incorrect term 'Summer'. I've taken part in Eid celebrations with some of my friends and that's why I love Trinidad, where cross-cultural boundaries are broken and people come together to celebrate essentially everything. For the rest of the period I intend to relax at the beach and probably enjoy some long awaited local bake and shark :D

  11. I just came back from a great weekend in Tobago, where i got to see emancipation & Tobago heritage celebrations. We visited the ever so popular Store Bay & Pigeon Point beaches and also went to the Nylon Pool which is absolutely amazing. One cannot visit Tobago and not go to the Nylon pool, it is a must, it it absolutely breath taking and very relaxing to go on the glass bottom boat tours. Also, if you are out with your friends, The Shades nigt club was a very nice cool vybzz, perfect to just dance and hang out on the weekends. There is nothing better than having a nice weekend getaway to Tobago.

  14. For this July-August break i plan to visit Trinidad's beaches such as Las Cuevas and Maracas where the people are always friendly and the bake and shark and other local cuisine never seems to disappoint. I'll also be hiking to several waterfalls such as the Maracas waterfall and Rio Seco waterfall. However I'll also be enjoying an ocean cruise around the Netherland Antilles.

  16. I still think the food is a must. There will be no way to stay in shape. So far I can see from almost all of the comments that Maracas shark and bake is a Must! That and this doubles that everyone is always talking about.

  17. The last time that I was in Tobago I just did not want to leave. It truly is a paradise, unlike New York where everything and everyone is moving fast. In Tobago everything was so chill and relaxed, the people are so incredibly friendly. The most amazing this is before you even step foot on the island is the beautiful blue water that you fly above. But even better is diving into the water and you just feel like all of your problems just melt away. La Cantina restaurant, the best pizza in the world.

  18. If there is one thing that I can safely say about Trinidad is that the sunsets just take your breath away. It is just so beautiful to look at, but when its gone parties start up. :)

  19. If there is 1 thing that is 100% true about Trinbago people is that they really do know how to have a good time. Almost anything they can turn into an excuse to "lime." Probably one of the coolest things for me is the fact that I can drink a beer anytime day or night and walk down the streets and it is a normal thing, but that is something that I would love to do in the U.S. Last time I was here I took a pic of me with a beer in my hand in the middle of ariapita avenue and my friends could not be leave it.

  20. I have yet to visit this beautiful place, but my brother did and after seeing the pictures alone I started to look for when I can take time off to visit and I find myself looking at pictures and videos of these islands so much so that I can almost smell the ocean air. From what he told me about his trip here there seems like I will always be busy. So looking forward to this. :D

Visiting the north coast is a must, a nice drive up to the Toco Light House and a short trip to the relaxing Tobago is definitely on the agenda but after the July-August break though.
