Gasparee Caves

Trinidad and Tobago is home to some of the most beautiful places on earth, we are blessed enough to have more than one in our twin island. One place that will surely take your breath away with its miraculous beauty is the Gasparee caves.

Take a walk 90ft under sea level and discover a new world. The limestone walls of the cave have dissolved due to the wave action, acidic rainfall and percolating ground-water, leaving behind sculptured caverns, caves, sinkholes, stalactites and stalagmites. All of its beauty is enhanced by natural light reflections which show off the magnificent blue of the underground pools.

So my question is how many of you have seen this wonder with your own eyes? How many of you are going to make a trip to see it for the first time or to re visit this magical cave? This is a perfect destination to go with the family that will leave a memory that will last a lifetime.

  1. For my friends wedding we went here to take pictures with them in the water. It was the first time I went to the caves and I was amazed at its beauty, the cave looks even more beautiful in real life than it dose in the picture and that picture come very close to how amazingly beautiful it looks. Those wedding pictures are really 1 of a kind as hardly anyone will have pictures in a place this beautiful.

  3. Oh yes, I fully agree with you Nevaal. When you making that lime call me. I just Googled the caves and all the pictures are like this if not better. Wow when I think about it I am realizing that I dont know Trinidad at all. So much of the beauty of the Islands I found out from this blog. That is horrible on my part.

  4. lol well all you like to do is stay home all day and sleep. But I just cant seem to get over this, I am just so in love with this pic and it will be a fantastic place to do a photo shoot. I can already see myself jumping into the water when I get there. :)

  5. I visited there and it is quite amazing down there. Off course you have to take a boat to reach which is like five (5) minutes away. For Hindus there is a rock that looks like "Lord Shiva" which is quite amazing to me. Also, there are like millions of bats which is scary and a deep pool inside which that shimmers like glass, reflecting the colours of the light that filter through the cave. No you cannot swim in it.

Overall perfect destination to go with the family that will leave a memory that will last a lifetime.

The Chaguaramas Development Authority (CDA) does tours at the Island and I think everyone should get to know their country and recognize the inherent beauty that it offers.
