Night Life

Trinidadians and Tobagonians are known for being the “party people” .They posses a unique way of being able to turn any situation into a “lime” (party.) So when the sun goes down the island transforms.

The biggest and most popular liming spot is Ariapita Avenue better known as the “Ave”. It is only 0.25 kilometres in length but with bars, clubs and restaurants on both sides there is much to choose from and it will take you more than two nights to experience it all. Other big clubs such as Zen and Club51 are located close by. Best part of all is the continuous expansion of the Ave, where new places are always popping up that cater to the varied taste in music and atmosphere. Police regularly patrol the Ave so you can feel at ease.

So my question to you now is if you are in Trinidad where will you be liming tonight? Name some Night Life hotspots that a tourist should visit and what are some of the things that can be done to help tourists find these places?

  1. Well for me Zen, it was the first club that I went to to and it is still one of my favorites. Specially when they have a big event and all the levels are open and on each level is a different type of music. The fog, the lights just love it. Had a birthday lime there an it is still one of my favorite.

  2. Club51. My best memory from there was when it had like 2 bridal parties going on and I get to take a wine on a bride lol. But seriously the crowd real nice, everyone that is be there to me just seem more relaxed and friendly. Best of all it dose not take you an hour to get drinks from the bar. Not to mention the bouncers is work fast and professional. One time I was there and a fight almost start and before anything got serious or out of hand the bouncers came in and took them outside very quickly. So it is very safe, to me.

  3. Stumbling on the Ave. It lives up to its name, took a friend there for her birthday and she really stumble out. There selection of music is awesome, EDM for most of the night with Soca in the mix as well, what more can you ask for?

  4. 1 place that I have never been to is Aria. I always liked that name but I have never been inside yet. Every time I pass by I always think to myself "self, one of these days you going to organize a lime and go in there." From just how the place looks from the outside alone you know just want to go in and check it out for your self. An when you see the girls that I has inside you want to go in even more. lol

  5. Yea, I want to go in Aria as well, but never get the chance as yet. Other than zen I like stumbling as well, but the best thing to do is to go there early and buy a bottle cause to buy drinks is a lot and I love the music. I see that they added in a stripper poll, so I am guessing when people get really drunk that could be something funny to see.

  6. Nuvosera is also a really nice spot. What I like is that it has a nice outdoor section and that if rain starts to fall they have a retractable awning that comes out and shelters you from the rain and when it is done they pull it back and you can continue your lime under the night sky.

  7. For me sometimes when I go on the Ave I dont really feel the dancing mood, so I will go to Shakers, fantastic music from the 90's and early 2000's. There its more chill and relaxed, sit down outside on the table and drink some beers with friends.

  8. So far everyone only talking about places in P.O.S it have so much more places outside of P.O.S. Most of the time to go in town is be to much for me so I will stick to places that are closer to home. They might not be as lively as some of those places in town but they are equally as good. One place that I use to like to go is a place called Spotlight in Curepe. Nice little spot and the best thing about them is they play good music, but the most important thing is that a beer dose NOT cost $20.00

  10. When it comes to watching sports, eating food and lot of drinking I think the best place is in trincity mall in Boothleggers. That is always be a good lime and they are the only place that I know of that is give you flaming shots. Yes thats right a shot that was on fire then you drink it after. Better yet is that Bootleggers going to be opening a second branch in Chaguanas where Mojo was. So that just makes things even better.

  11. I'm a more laid back kinda guy. I like spending time with my special someone ;) watching a lil movie home and at the cinema, going for a lil afternoon dinner, currently cooking for her which makes her happy and not want to cook. I actually have plans to take her to Apsara Restaurant which I think she will enjoy a lot. Been there once and the food & atmosphere is very relaxing and is a good place for family and couples.

    According to their website which I have to agree with;
Apsara is undoubtedly the No. 1 Authentic Indian Restaurant in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean. Over the past sixteen years Apsara Restaurant has developed a reputation for consistent good quality authentic Northern India Food.

Fellas...it kinda/is PRICEY. Carry her once a year.

  12. Some of the things that can be done to help tourists find these places are implement something called "Concierge Services"

Concierge Service is personal concierge service runs on the most basic of premises. People want things done but don't have the time to do them. But they're happy to pay someone to take care of their business efficiently and with a touch of class. Why not let that someone be you?

Although personal concierge services are a fairly recent development, the number of companies that serve time-starved clients is mushrooming, right along with customer demand for such businesses.

Places such as San Francisco, China, Australia, the United Kingdom and a lot more already use this type of tool.

In my opinion, if the Marketing Team in our local companies such as F1RST (http://f1rst.com) who have a Phone Application which help people find everything possible in Trinbago, think about doing this they can make a lot of money and it is a great avenue for the Government Tourism Sector (TDC) to try.
