I have said that our twin island is just magical and this is
no lie. The most majestic place in all of Tobago is the Nylon Pool. This is
latterly located at the back of the Buccoo Reef and is a stop on the Buccoo
Reef tour. Princess Margaret is responsible for giving the pool its name, on
her visit there in 1962.
We call it pool
because of the shallow waters and white sand. One thing that truly makes the
Nylon Pool magical is the legend of rejuvenation to those lucky enough to swim
in its waters. There is also a romantic myth. It is believed that if a couple
kisses underneath the water of the pool, their marriage will not only be a
happy and loving one but it will last for a lifetime. So if that is not enough
to make you want to swim in its waters then I don’t know what will.
Have you been to the Nylon Pool? Wouldn’t you agree that it
is a ‘must see’ for all locals and tourists?
You latterly can not say that you never went to the Nylon pool if you went to the Boccoo Reef because it is the very next stop. The pool is simply amazing, you really do feel like you are in a pool, the water is so clear and nice, just like in the pictures. Yes this is a MUST see specially if you are a Tourist. I actually do believe in the myth, because as soon as you dive into the water you just feel all of you problems and stress just wash away and you are so relaxed. I still need to try the kissing under the water.
ReplyDeleteSo far I will say that the kiss under the water is working. I kissed my girlfriend at the time under the water for the fun of it because of the same myth and we have been married for 2 years now and still strong. So I will say that so far the pools magic seems to be working perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI dont believe in magic or myth, but I will say this. There really is something that is special about that place. You really do feel more relaxed when you are in water that clear and beautiful. I mean form the pictures alone you can already picture your self there.
ReplyDeleteThe family and I already have out tickets booked and I almost forgot about the Nylon Pool. Pictures alone show off its beauty and I can not weight to get to the Nylon Pool, I already know that from the time I go into the water it will be a very difficult task to get me out. As for the myth I will be putting it to the test. :)
ReplyDeleteJust looking at the pictures you know that it is a "must see." It is not only that, it is an experience. Just thinking about that water right now and I am feeling like I just want to get up, leave work, jump on a plain and go to the Nylon Pool and relax there for the rest of the day.
ReplyDeleteTobago was part of my honeymoon with my wife and the Nylon Pool was simply the most amazing thing. It was just breath taking, never in our lives had we seen anything that was this beautiful. We did not want to go, it was worse when we realized that we had to go back home and back to normal life.
ReplyDeleteNever been there, but will sure be on my list of places to visit ;).
ReplyDeleteTo me all our destinations are a must see for Locals and Tourists. We just need to preserve it's nature habitat.
I like the romantic myth. "It is believed that if a couple kisses underneath the water of the pool, their marriage will not only be a happy and loving one but it will last for a lifetime."
We will see...
Haha loving it :-)
